WENHAM, Mass. -- Ben Wright led four runners placing in the initial eight as the University of New England men's cross country team cruised past the 13-team field at the Pop Crowell Invitational hosted by Gordon College on Saturday (Sep. 23).

It marked the fourth consecutive win in the event for the Nor'easters. UNE's total of 34 points bested nearest competitors Nichols College (81), the host Fighting Scots (86) and Massachusetts Maritime Academy (92).

Wright took 3rd-place in the meet of 106 entries with a time of 27:59 on the 8-kilometer course. Matthew Toussaint was next across the line (4th) in 28:14, while Donovan Duffy clocked 28:53 for 6th. The 8th spot belonged to Caleb Pulliam and Alec Walker was 13th to complete to score.

Gordon's Damon Kilgore was the top individual by more than two minutes, registering 25:42 on his own track.

The Nor'easters will enjoy two weeks off before heading to the James Earley Invitational (Westfield State) on October 7.
