AUBURN, Maine -- The University of New England men's golf squad placed ninth with a two-day team score of 649 as the Maine Championship wrapped up Sunday (Sep. 17) at Martindale Country Club.

Husson University totaled 591 (289-302) to claim the title by 39 strokes over Bates College (309-321). The Eagles' Gavin Dugas backed up his opening round 68 with 74 for a 142 score and a five shot victory in the individual competition.

The Nor'easters posted 320 in Round 2, which was paced by a three-over-par 74 from Dylan Andrews. Michael Rich added a 78, Garrett Krisko fired an 82, and Hunter Drew registered an 86.

Rich earned All-Maine status with his T-5 finish, based on his 36-hole number of 150 (72-78).

UNE heads for the Thomas College Invitational, back at Waterville Country Club, next Sunday.
