BOSTON -- Kaleigh Beauregard scored with 1:34 remaining in overtime to give the University of Massachusetts Boston Beacons a 1-0 win over the University of New England in a New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) women's game Saturday afternoon (Feb. 4) at Edward T. Barry Ice Rink.

With the victory the Beacons improved to 14-7-0 overall and 8-5-0 in conference play. The Nor'easters fell to 8-11-2 overall, 5-7-1 in NEHC action.

After three scoreless periods UMass Boston claimed victory when Beauregard one-timed a pass from Julia Nolan into the goal.

The Beacons held a 42-29 advantage in shots on goal, including a 5-2 margin during overtime. 

Rachel Myette earned the shutout in goal with 29 saves, while Sydney Helmbrecht had 41 for UNE.

The Nor'easters are back in action next Friday and Saturday when they head to Vermont to face Norwich University and Castleton University.
