BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Senior Gabriella Moscato scored a pair of goals and classmate Mary Wirth added the other in the University of New England's 3-1 win over Saint Michael's College in a New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) game Saturday (Feb. 18) on Senior Day at the Harold Alfond Forum.

The win gave UNE (10-13-2, 7-9-1 NEHC) a sweep of conference home games in a span of less than 24 hours to conclude the regular season. The Nor'easters will be seeded fifth for the NEHC Championship and open play on the road next Saturday (Feb. 25) at No. 4 Castleton University.

After the two teams played a scoreless first period, UNE seized control in the middle frame with three goals. Wirth opened the scoring at the 1:32 mark, firing a wrist shot from the left circle that went five-hole on Purple Knights' goaltender Abby Burke [WATCH]. Kierra Wright set-up the goal. Moscato would then tally twice in a span of 1:26 late in the stanza. She went top shelf from the low slot on the first one [WATCH], and then poked home a rebound with just 20 seconds remaining for the second [WATCH]. Senior Gabby Crugnale assisted on each goal, while Wright and Julianne Sheehan were credited with secondary assists on Moscato's first and second marker, respectively.

Erin Dwyer would prevent Saint Michael's from being blanked, scoring on a breakaway midway through the third period. Jordan Monbouque passed the puck out of the Purple Knights' defensive zone to get the play started.

Winning goalie Caty Flagg played the final two periods and totaled 23 saves [WATCH]. Senior Sydney Helmbrecht stopped 11 saves in the opening period for UNE.

Burke piled up 39 saves for the Purple Knights (4-20-0, 4-13-0).
