BIDDEFORD, Maine -- The University of New England and the State University of New York (SUNY) at Canton skated to a 1-1 overtime tie in women's ice hockey action Saturday afternoon (Dec. 9) at the Harold Alfond Forum.
The Nor'easters (4-3-5) got on the board in the latter portion of the 1st, when
Jessica Tolzman redirected a centering pass from
Annie Mullen top-shelf.
Haley Gorman also assisted on the play, finding Mullen up the right wing out of the defensive zone.
Two tips got the Kangaroos (5-4-1) back even just past the midway mark of the 2nd. Breanna Bedborough was the last to touch it, turning a puck aimed at the right post through the five-hole. Sydney Jordan fed it towards the cage from the left point, and Alexa Parigi angled it slightly more on-target.
Annie Rademacher saved 31 shots for UNE, following up her clean, eight-save third period in Friday's contest between the teams. For SUNY Canton, Brooke Susac denied 27 attempts, after a 35-save shutout last night.
The Nor'easters will now have three weeks off before returning to the Forum ice on January 2 to face Wesleyan University (4 p.m.).
