NORTHFIELD, Vt. -- Adrieana Rossini and Amanda Conway each scored twice as No.1 Norwich University skated past the University of New England, 7-1, in New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) women's action Saturday afternoon (Nov. 18) at Kreitzberg Arena.
The top-ranked team in the nation only held a 1-0 lead through 20 minutes, but that expanded to 4-1 by the conclusion of the 2nd period. Rossini notched her pair for the Cadets (8-0-1, 6-0 NEHC) to start the middle frame, before the Nor'easters (1-2-3, 1-2-3 NEHC) got their one on the board off the stick of
Alex Mitchell.
It was the first goal allowed by Norwich in 219:07 of play, spanning more than three full shutouts.
Laurie King logged 14 saves to get the win for the Cadets.
In goal for UNE,
Annie Rademacher posted the second-highest single-game save total (56) in the five-plus years of the program in Biddeford.
The Nor'easters will now play two against Salem State University -- the first in Massachusetts on Tuesday, followed by Sunday back at home (3 p.m.).
