BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Kassidy Towne scored half of her four tries as the University of New England women's rugby team built a 22-0 cushion on the way to a 57-14 victory over Bowdoin College in the title match of the 2017 National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA) Tier 2 Cup Championship played on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 11) at Barbara J. Hazard Field.

Six other Nor'easters accounted for UNE's seven remaining tries: Kaitlin Drumheller (2), Jenni Laferriere, Lara Murnik, Courtney Mills, Andrea Call, and Emma Foss. Zoe Adams contributed one conversion for two points in the cold kicking conditions.

The hosts limited the Polar Bears to seven points per period. Safiya Osei recorded a try with 4:42 left in the opening half, with the conversion from Liz D'Angelo, and then D'Angelo did it all herself with 2:46 to go in the 2nd.
