GORHAM, Maine -- The University of New England men's cross country team finished in 34th place at the NCAA III New England Regional Championship, contested Saturday afternoon (Nov. 11) at Gorham Country Club.
MIT (81) took a 10-point win over Amherst College (91) to garner the title, with Middlebury College (124) running to a third-place finish. Individually, Sam Brunette of Plymouth State University edged Scott Mason of Connecticut College by 1.5 seconds to win the race. He posted an eight-kilometer time of 25:22.
Matthew Toussaint was the first UNE runner to cross the finish line in 148th-place, recording a time of 28:06. Other Nor'easters to figure into the team total:
Ben Wright (181st/28:57),
Donovan Duffy (219th/29:38),
Caleb Pulliam (226th/29:47) and
Alec Walker (250th/30:19).
