BIDDEFORD, Maine -- The University of New England opened up a 46-0 lead and cruised to a 61-15 victory over Bowdoin College in a National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA) Tier 2 match played Saturday (Oct. 7) at Barbara J. Hazard Field.

The Nor'easters, ranked 11th in the most recent NIRA national poll, are now 2-1 in three all-time meetings between the two squads.

Heather Baron paced the UNE offense with three tries, while Lara Murnik and Kaitlin Drumheller added two apiece. Kassidy Towne, Courtney Mills, Andrea Call and Emma Foss each found the try zone once. Zoe Adams had three conversions to account for six points.

Satya Kent, Allegra Bersani and Kendall Schutzer each had one try for Bowdoin, which hosts Colby College's club team next Saturday.

The Nor'easters have a week off before taking on Castleton University at home on Oct. 21.
