PORTSMOUTH, R.I. -- The University of New England posted a total of 333 to place sixth out of the teams attempting to move into the 2018 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Men's Golf Championship, as the 18-hole qualifying round was played Thursday (Oct. 5) at Montaup Country Club.

Four of the seven squads advanced to the April 28-29 finals -- reigning champion Endicott College (300), Western New England University (311), Roger Williams University (316), and Nichols College (318).

John Abbott of Western New England was the lone competitor to get around the par-71 track in red figures, with a score of 70 that was two strokes better than the next best number.

For the Nor'easters, Dylan Andrews had a team-best 79. Michael Rich and Hunter Drew added 81 and 82, respectively, and Garrett Krisko came in with 91.

UNE will be at Gorham Country Club for the University of Southern Maine Fall Classic on Sunday (10:30 a.m.) and Monday.
