BIDDEFORD, Maine -- The University of New England had three runners in the top 10 to finish 4th out of nine institutions at the 2017 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Men's Cross Country Championship, which was held Saturday afternoon (Oct. 28) at Rotary Park.
For the third straight year, Wentworth Institute of Technology claimed the team title, posting a score of 37. Endicott College (71), Roger Williams University (82), and the Nor'easters (92) were next in line.
Registering
All-CCC performances for UNE was
Ben Wright (6th - 28:01),
Matthew Toussaint (9th - 28:22), and
Donovan Duffy (10th - 28:24). Duffy also earned the
CCC Rookie of the Year distinction by placing first among the newcomers.

Rounding out the Nor'easters' scoring group was
Caleb Pulliam (35th) and
Alec Walker (42nd).
Gordon College's Damon Kilgore won the individual crown for a third time, clocking 25:57 on the 8-kilometer course to lead the 100-runner pack.

UNEÂ will have two weeks (Nov. 11) before making the short trip to Gorham Country Club for the NCAA Division III New England Championship (hosted by the University of Southern Maine).
