Nor'easters take seventh in-a-row, blanking Salve Regina, 3-0

MIDDLETOWN, R.I. -- Two goals in the opening five minutes started the University of New England towards a 3-0 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) field hockey triumph over Salve Regina University on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 21) at Gaudet Field.

Winners of seven consecutive games, the Nor'easters (10-1 CCC) move to 14-4 entering the final week of the regular-season. UNE has captured the last six against SRU (10-6, 7-4 CCC)

Scores by Hannah Buckley in the 3rd minute, and Vonde Saunders in the 5th, gave the visitors an early cushion. Kersey Boulay added another in the moments leading up to halftime.

Liz Sargent logged nine saves for the shutout defending the UNE cage.

The Nor'easters get back to work on Wednesday (5 p.m.) with a trip to No.3 Babson College.
