Nor'easters storm by Castleton to improve to 3-1 on the season

BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Zoe Adams tallied five tries to power the University of New England women's rugby team to a 91-0 shutout of Castleton University in a National College Women's Varsity Rugby Association (NCWVRA) match played Friday evening (Sept. 30) under the lights at Barbara J. Hazard Field.

The win improves the Nor'easters' overall record to 3-1, while the Spartans slip to 0-5.

Kaitlin Drumheller and Caitlin Paredes each added a pair of tries for the Nor'easters, who led 36-0 at intermission. UNE received one try apiece from Courtney Mills, Lara Murnik, Heather Baron, Katie Gorenflo, Andrea Call and Emma Foss.

Kassidy Towne was 6-for-11 on conversion attempts to account for 12 points, while Adams paced the defense with four tackles.

UNE is off until next Friday (Oct. 7) when the Nor'easters make the trip to Brunswick to face Bowdoin College.
