LEEDS, Maine -- For a second straight day, the University of New England men's golf team was top-to-bottom the most consistent of the nine competing programs, and the Nor'easters used that balance to advance two places to grab 4th at the Maine Championship, which wrapped up Round 2 on Sunday (Sep. 18) at Springbrook Golf Club.

Saint Joseph's College finished incredibly strong to claim the crown, as its last three scores of 73, 71, and 72 netted a Sunday 297 for a tournament total of 604. Overnight leader, Husson University, received another stellar sub-par round from medalist Daulton Wickenden (67-69=136), but the Eagles posted 303 once again to settle two strokes back of the winning mark at 606.

The University of Southern Maine (311-306=617) remained ahead of the Nor'easters (312-308=620) to secure third place, and Bowdoin College elevated to fifth in the final rankings (313-314=627).

UNE's Sunday tally was led by a 4-over-par 75 by Michael Rich (157). Sam Kinasewich added a 76 (153) and Garrett Krisko supported with a 78 (155), before Ryan Mahoney summed things up with a 79 (157). Jackson Tucker carded an 80 in both rounds.

The Nor'easters will prepare to host five other squads on Thursday (10 a.m.) for the UNE Invitational at Cape Arundel Golf Club.
