BRUNSWICK, Maine -- The University of New England men's cross country squad took 3rd place out of four on Saturday afternoon (Sep. 17) at the Bowdoin College Invitational.
St. Francis Xavier University (Nova Scotia) blitzed the field with a total of 17, before the host Polar Bears (38), the Nor'easters (95), and Emmanuel College (102). Lyndon State College only had four runners and could not register a score.
For UNE,
Paul Mangiafico led the way with an 8K time of 27:23, good for 17th position.
Matthew Toussaint was next in 24th place (28:19), and
Ben Wright followed in 28th (28:26). Completing the number for Big Blue was
Caleb Pulliam (30th - 28:48) and
Drew York (33rd - 29:33).
Scott Donald of StFX was the first runner across the line in 25:08.
The Nor'easters get back to work next Saturday at the Pop Crowell Invitational (Gordon College).
