Michael Rich carded a personal-best 76 to pace the University of New England to a fifth-place showing at the University of Maine-Farmington Invitational on Wednesday (Sep. 14) at Waterville Country Club.
Saint Joseph's College (Maine) posted a team total of 299, good for a one stroke victory over the host Beavers (300), and four better than the University of Southern Maine (303). Husson University (307) was the other squad to wind up in front of the Nor'easters (312).
USM's Tom Murray fired an even-par round of 70 to take home the medalist honor -- just one ahead of Daulton Wickenden from Husson.
After Rich,
Sam Kinasewich and
Jackson Tucker both came in with 78.
Ryan Mahoney at 80 and
Garrett Krisko at 82 rounded out the UNE lineup.
Big Blue will be in Leeds, Maine this weekend for 36 holes of the Maine Championship.
