Box Score

BEVERLY, Mass. -- Trailing 4-0 less than eight minutes into the match, Endicott College recovered to take the lead just before halftime and then scored four consecutive goals in the second half to pull away for a 12-9 win over the University of New England in the Commonwealth Coast Conference regular-season finale Tuesday afternoon (April 26) at Hempstead Stadium.

Winners of six of their last seven games, the Gulls improved to 7-9 overall while closing out their conference slate at 6-2. UNE will take a 10-6 (6-2 CCC) mark into postseason play.

Erin McCarthy tallied a game-high four goals to pace the winners. Olivia Larson scored three times, while Emily Whitney contributed a pair of goals.

Jocelyn Davee, Carly Sheehan and Paige St. George had two goals apiece for the Nor'easters. Korinne Bohunsky handed out a pair of assists.

After four different players gave UNE a 4-0 advantage in the early stages of the match, the Gulls chipped away to get within two (6-4) after a free-position shot from Chelsea Burke halfway through the frame. Endicott would then rattle off four consecutive tallies to grab the lead. McCarthy got the run underway with back-to-back goals. Olivia Carpenter scored with a little more than a minute remaining to cut the Nor'easters' deficit to one (8-7) heading into intermission.

Sheehan tied the game for UNE five minutes into the second half before Endicott notched four straight goals to pull away. Larson and Whitney started the spurt, which was capped by McCarthy's second back-to-back effort of the day. Davee would find the net late to close the scoring.

Jolena Lampron had a strong match defensively for the Nor'easters, finishing with six caused turnovers and four ground balls. Bohunsky added five draw controls for UNE, which received five saves from goalkeeper Courtney Kendall.

Endicott netminder Maura Grady had six stops to record the victory.

UNE will host Curry College when the CCC Championship gets underway Saturday. The entire tournament schedule will be announced later this evening.
