Boardman tallied the lone goal of the opening period when she re-directed a shot by Izzy Bagi. Kara Violette had a secondary assist on the goal, w which came on the power play.

Holy Cross would pull away in the second, outscoring UNE 3-1 thanks in large part to a 13-3 margin in shots on goal. Boardman made it 2-0 at 5:23, one-timing a centering pass by Violette from the slot. Emily Lissner pushed the Holy Cross advantage to 3-0 halfway through the frame when she shoved in a rebound after UNE goaltender Sydney Helmbrecht had made a stop on Julie Matthias.

The Nor'easters broke into the scoring column late in the period. With her team on the power play, Gabby Crugnale got her stick on shot by Carly Perreault, making it change direction into the cage. Crugnale's sixth marker of the season was also set up by Mary Wirth and came at 17:32

The Crusaders would get that right back inside the final minute when Elizabeth Scala potted a wrist shot from the slot off a feed from Boardman.

Alex Barnes recorded the win with 16 saves for Holy Cross, which finished the contest with a 33-17 edge in shots on goal. Helmbrecht finished with 29 stops for UNE.
