Armand Uomoleale tallied with 2:45 remaining to give the University of New England a 4-3 win over Skidmore College in New England Hockey Conference men's action Friday night (Feb. 12) at the Saratoga City Rink.
The win improved the Nor'easters' overall record to 13-9-2 while solidifying their hold on fourth place in the conference standings with a mark of 9-7-1. Skidmore dropped to 5-15-4, 5-9-3 in NEHC games.
UNE jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period with a pair of goals in the latter stages of the frame. Uomoleale opened the scoring at the 14:04 mark, and
Blaise Healy followed less than three minutes later.
Dustin Walsh assisted on Uomoleale's goal, while
Ryan Quinn had a helper on Healy's.
Skidmore tallied twice in the middle period to tie the game. Marc Cibelli notched his 12th of the season 4:50 into the frame, then Corey Morgan drew the Thoroughbreds even halfway through the stanza.
Tom Gildersleeve put UNE back on top (3-2) with a goal coming at 3:56 of the third.

Tucker Ross assisted on the score.
Once again Skidmore responded, as Anthony Bird converted a rebound for his 11th goal of the season.
Healy and Quinn assisted on Uomoleale's third game-winning goal of the season and second in less than a week.
Goaltender
Connor Maloney stopped 29 shots to improve his record to 7-2-1 for UNE, which led Skidmore 37-32 in shots on goal.
Jack McDonald totaled 33 saves for the Thoroughbreds.
The Nor'easters will conclude their regular season tomorrow when they play at Castleton University (4 p.m.). A win or tie will guarantee UNE a f
ourth-place finish in the conference standings and the school's first-ever home playoff game when the NEHC Championship begins next Saturday (Feb. 20).Â
