MANCHESTER, Maine -- Led by a round of 78 from Brendan Foley, the University of New England men's golf team took 3rd place at the Mariner Invitational, hosted by Maine Maritime Academy, on Thursday (Oct. 6) at Augusta Country Club.

The University of Southern Maine topped the seven-team field with a score of 302, followed by the University of Maine-Farmington at 311. The Nor'easters (327), the Mariners (328), and Saint Joseph's College (339) rounded out the top five.

Andrew Garcia-Bou of Bates College fired the low individual number of the day -- a 2-over-par 72.

After Foley's total, UNE received an 80 from Ryan Mahoney, 84 from Garrett Krisko, and 85 from Michael Rich to complete the scoring.

The Nor'easters are scheduled to compete in the USM Fall Classic on Sunday and Monday at Gorham Country Club.
