CASTLETON, Vt. -- The University of New England women's rugby team raced out to an early 17-0 advantage on its way to a 55-5 victory over Castleton University in a women's rugby match played Saturday afternoon (Oct. 29).
Katie Gorenflo and
Kassidy Towne each had two tries to pace the offensive attack for UNE (5-2). Jennifer Laferierre,
Caitlin Paredes,
Andrea Call,
Emma Foss and
Emily Morris added one try apiece.
Emily Richard had a strong match with conversions, totaling five to account for 10 points.
Ali Sodowski registered the lone try for Castleton (0-9) with just under 10 minutes remaining in the first half.
The Nor'easters await word on a potential postseason bid.
