SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Led by all-conference performances from Matthew Toussaint and Paul Mangiafico, the University of New England men's cross country team took 4th out of nine squads at the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship meet on Saturday (Oct. 29).

In addition to the top-10 recognition for Toussaint (6th - 27:07) and Mangiafico (8th - 27:17), the Nor'easters were presented with the Team Sportsmanship Award.
 
Wentworth Institute of Technology captured the team title for the second year in-a-row, scoring 43 to best Endicott College (69), Roger Williams University (87), UNE (105), and Western New England University (107).

There was a repeat in the individual competition of 89 runners, as well, with Gordon College's Damon Kilgore completing the 8K course in 25:46 to finish 22 seconds ahead of the pack.

Contributing to the Big Blue total was Ben Wright (20th - 28:39), Jon Zalman (26th - 29:11), and Alec Walker (46th - 30:09).

UNE will return to action in two weeks (Nov. 12) at the NCAA Division III New England Championship.
