After an invitational win to close the first semester, the Nor'easters (6-2) have come out on top of all three dual meets since, and are now unbeaten in six meets with the Blazers (2-10).
Rachael Romain led the performance for UNE on Senior Day, picking up results in the 400-individual medley (5:17.05) and 200-breaststroke (2:45.72). Classmate
Britni Harris also recorded a first-place showing in the 50-backstroke (33.31).
Eleni Bautz added a pair to the Big Blue total of 10 top finishes, touching the wall first in the 100-freestyle (1:00.86) and the 50-freestyle (27.82). Her time in the 50 free set-up the closest race of the day, as UNE's
Emily Chamberlain clocked in just 0.16 seconds later. Chamberlain was another of the two-time winners for the Nor'easters, taking the 200-freestyle (2:08.23) and 500-freestyle (5:41.22).
Cassie Berger padded the cushion for the hosts with results in the 50-breaststroke (36.72) and 100-backstroke (1:09.88). Rounding out the UNE effort was
Kayla Burgess, the leader at the conclusion of the 100-butterfly (1:06.77).
The Nor'easters are slated to swim again next Saturday at the The Maine Event, hosted by Bates College.
