ResultsFotografix Studio Photo GalleryPhotosBIDDEFORD, Maine -- The University of New England men's cross country team placed five scoring runners among the first 11 finishers on its way to the team title at the 2015 UNE Invitational held at Rotary Park on Saturday (Sept. 12).
UNE totaled 38 points to easily best Wentworth Institute of Technology, which posted an aggregate score of 87. Endicott College (101) finished third. The victory in their own event was the Nor'easters' second in two seasons.
CJ Vallie led a pack of bunched UNE harriers, placing third with an eight-kilometer time of 27:51.
Paul Mangiafico (28:24),
Jon Zalman (28:26) and
Matthew Toussaint (28:27) placed seventh through ninth, respectively, while
Peter LePage (11th; 28:36) rounded out the Nor'easters' scoring runners.
Caleb Pulliam also finished in the Top 20, recording a time of 29:21 to place 19th.
Damon Kilgore of Gordon College was the individual winner, topping the field by nearly a minute with a time of 26:44.
The Nor'easters have a week off before returning to action Sept. 26 at the Pop Crowell Invitational held on the campus of Gordon College.
