ResultsWILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- The University of New England men's cross country team finished 13th overall in a field of 40 teams at the 2015 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Championship hosted by Williams College at Mount Greylock High School on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 7).
Amherst College took the team championship with a score of 53 points, followed by Williams (77) and Middlebury College (117). Liam Simpson of Williams won the eight-kilometer race with a time of 26:24.13 -- less than a half-second faster than Steven Lucey of Amherst.
CJ Vallie paced the Nor'easters with a 17th-place finish and time of 27:23.Â
Paul Mangiafico was a place inside the Top 50, finishing 49th with a 27:59 performance.
Jon Zalman (98th; 29:01),
Matthew Toussaint (107th; 29:12) andÂ
Casey Hubbard (133rd; 29:39) also scored for UNE, while
Drew York and
Ben Wright rounded out the Nor'easters' roster for the event.
UNE will race in the NCAA Division III New England Regional next Saturday at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, Conn.
