CJ Vallie was the top finisher for the University of New England men's cross country team as the Nor'easters placed 25th of 55 teams racing at the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championship on Saturday (Nov. 14) at Harkness Memorial Park.
Williams College (67) edged out Amherst College (68) by one point to place first overall. Tufts University finished third with a team score of 80. Mohamed Hussein of Amherst College placed first overall as he finished in 24:39.
For UNE,
CJ Vallie led all scoring runners as he finished 90th of 380 runners with a time of 26:23.
Paul Mangiafico came in 138th, posting an eight-kilometer time of 27:16.
Matthew Toussaint rounded out Big Blue's top three finishers as he came in 163rd with a 27:38 finish time.
Jon Zalman (190th; 27:57) and
Christian Leighton (213th; 28:16) also placed as scoring runners for the Nor'easters.
Casey Hubbard and
Taylor Vogt competed for UNE, as well.
