ORONO, Maine -- The University of New England men's golf squad totaled 333 to finish in 5th out of the nine competing teams at the Husson University Invitational on Saturday (Sep. 20) at Penobscot Valley Country Club. The host Eagles captured the title with a score of 310.

Husson, behind medalist Colby Snell with a 1-under-par 71, won the event by four strokes over Castleton State College (314). Maine Maritime Academy (324) and the University of Southern Maine (330) also placed in the top five.

Senior Jared Melman the low-man for the Nor'easters, carding an 81. Sophomore Evan Ryan registered an 82, while junior Paul Butkevich and sophomore Ryan Mahoney both came in at 85.

UNE resumes its schedule on Tuesday in the John Queenan Memorial, hosted by Saint Joseph's College at Point Sebago Golf Club.
