CJ Vallie, to take the 2014 UNE Invitational Saturday morning (Sept. 13) at Rotary Park.
The victory was the Nor'easters' first triumph at their own event after finishing second four of the last five years. UNE totaled 24 points to earn the title.
Vallie circled the course in a time of 26:15 to top Ian Barber of Lesley University by 13 seconds. Vallie had to chase down Barber, who led for a signficant portion of the race.
UNE senior
Shane Murphy was third with a time of 26:28, while classmates
Peter LePage (26:46) and
Chad Lyons (26:49) along with sophomore
Paul Mangiafico (26:55) grabbed the 8th, 9th and 10th spots to complete Big Blue's contingent of scoring runners.
First-year

The Nor'easters are idle for a week before competing at the Pop Crowell Invitational hosted by Gordon College on Sept. 27.
