Ryan Mahoney to finish with a two-day total of 639 at the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Men's Golf Championship, which concluded Sunday (Apr. 27) at Franconia Golf Course.
Big Blue placed fourth in the event, which was captured by Endicott College, which rallied from a seven-stroke deficit with a 298 in round two. The Gulls' 36-hole total of 600 tied that of Western New England University (295-305), and EC got the title and automatic bid to the NCAA Championship through the tiebreaker (scores of 5th player on Sunday) by a 78-79 margin. Nichols College took third at 604 (301-303).
Eric Hedberg of WNE posted back-to-back rounds of 72 to claim the individual crown (144) by three strokes ahead to three players.
Emery's five-over-par 76 led the Nor'easters on the afternoon, and left him with a 159 total. Mahoney came in with 79 for 154 over the two days. First-year
Sam Kinasewich 80 (160), sophomore
Paul Butkevich 82 (169), and graduate student
Tyler Moody 85 (169) completed the scoring for UNE.
