BRUNSWICK, Maine -- Bowdoin College scored seven times in the initial 4:08 on the way to a 20-2 women's lacrosse victory over the University of New England in a non-conference match played Thursday evening (Mar. 6) at Howard Ryan Field.
The Polar Bears, ranked 12th in the latest IWLCA Division III Top 20 Poll, even their record at 1-1 on the year. The setback is the first of the young season for the Nor'easters (3-1).

For Bowdoin, Jordan Smith led the attack with four goals and four assists. Lindsay Picard and Betsy Sachs contributed three markers apiece. Molly Popolizio notched four assists and Kelsey Gallagher added three helpers.
Isabel Sippel and Ella Blanchon combined for three saves for the Polar Bears, who visit No. 11 Amherst College on Saturday.
UNE, which hosts the University of Southern Maine next Thursday, got three saves in the final 48:45 from sophomore
