ResultsWESTFIELD, Mass. -- The University of New England men's cross country team finished 14th out of 43 entries at the 2014 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Championship hosted by Westfield State University at Stanley Park on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 8).
The Nor'easters posted a team total of 379 and were the second Commonwealth Coast Conference squad in the team results. Williams College was first at 57, followed by Tufts University (71) and Amherst College (111).
CJ Vallie was the first UNE runner to cross the line, recording a time of 26:41 over the eight-kilometer loop.
Peter LePage was 59th overall at 27:01.15 and
Shane Murphy followed less than a second behind in 60th at 27:01.65.
Paul Mangiafico (110th, 27:55) and
Jon Zalman (118th, 28:02) rounded out Big Blue's contingent of scoring runners, while
Chad Lyons (124th, 28:12) and
Sean Hanrahan (138th, 28:29) also raced for UNE.
The Nor'easters will conclude their season next Saturday at the NCAA III New England Regional in Williamstown, Mass.
