ResultsBRISTOL, R.I. -- The University of New England women's swimming team began the 2014-15 season on Saturday (Oct. 18) with a third-place showing at the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Invitational meet, which was held at the Roger Williams University Aquatics Center.
The depth of the host Hawks proved to be too much, as RWU totaled 279 points for a decisive win. Gordon College ended up second with 73, before the Nor'easters (58) and Western New England University (38).

Emily Zeimetz posted the highest finish for Big Blue, with 4th (2:27.14) in the 200-yard individual medley. Two others claimed 5th in events -- classmate
Kelly Dolyak in the 500 freestyle (5:46.30), and sophomore
Lindsey Thomsen in the 100 backstroke (1:05.58).
Both the 200 medley relay squad (2:03.52) and the 200 freestyle relay group (1:51.29) placed second in their respective races.
UNE visits Regis College next Saturday (1 p.m.).
