RUTLAND, Vt. -- Goals just 1:42 apart with less than six minutes to play lifted Salve Regina University to a 3-2 women's ice hockey victory over the University of New England in the consolation match of the Rutland Herald Invitational, hosted by Castleton State College, on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 11) at Spartan Arena.

Melissa Boudreau was named to the All-Tournament Team for the Nor'easters (5-7-3), who suffer their third straight one-goal defeat.
After no scoring in the 1st period, Sarah Markey got the Seahawks (7-5-2) on the board midway through the 2nd frame with a power play marker.
UNE evened things up at the 4:29 mark of the 3rd period on a goal by first-year

Big Blue then took the lead with 7:57 left in the contest on an unassisted power play goal by first-year
Gabby Crugnale.
However, a power play score by Shannon Coleman tied the game with 5:31 on the clock, and Markey tallied another on the player-advantage with 3:49 to go to move Salve Regina back in front.
Sophomore goalie
Courtney Kendall did her part to keep things close for UNE, amassing 47 saves in the setback. On the other end, SRU netminder Mariah Mosher stopped 15 shots.
The Nor'easters visit Franklin Pierce University next Friday (7 p.m.), before returning to Biddeford the following night (7p.m.) for another date with the Ravens.
