Box Score

BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Senior Tim Richter (Naugatuck, Conn.) and first-year Max Reavis (Omaha, Neb.) each scored twice and combined for three assists to help lead 11th-ranked University of Massachusetts Boston to a 7-4 ECAC East League win over the University of New England men's ice hockey team on Monday afternoon (Feb. 11) at the Harold Alfond Forum.

Both Richter and Reavis scored in the 1st period to put the visitors in front -- a lead the Beacons (17-4-2, 10-4-2 ECAC East) would not relinquish. Reavis and first-year Frankie DeAugustine (Pittsburgh, Pa.) recorded 2nd-period goals to double the margin (4-0) after 40 minutes of action.

UMass Boston received scores from first-year Mike Miller (Wrentham, Mass.), senior Mike DeGrazia (Novi, Mich.), and Richter in the first five minutes of the final stanza before the Nor'easters (6-15-1, 4-12-0) registered the last four markers of the contest.

Sophomore Jared Melman (San Jose, Calif.), junior Sean Sullivan (Worcester, Mass.), first-year Cassidy April (San Diego, Calif.), and sophomore Shayne Toohey (Beaconsfield, Quebec) netted the goals for UNE, which finished with a 33-29 edge in shots.

For the Beacons, first-year Zach Andrews (Coral Springs, Fla.) posted 29 saves to earn the victory, while classmate Derek Colucci (North Scituate, R.I.) tallied three assists to help fuel the attack.

Big Blue sophomore Colby Drost (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) turned away 15 shots over the initial 45 minutes before giving way to junior Ian Edwards (Linden, Mich.), who chalked up saves on all seven shots he faced the rest of the afternoon. First-year Tom Gildersleeve (New Harbor, Maine) was credited with a team-high two assists.

UMass Boston heads home this weekend to entertain Saint Michael's College (Friday) and No. 1 Norwich (Saturday) as the regular-season comes to an end.

The Nor'easters hit the road to New Hampshire for dates at New England College and Saint Anselm.
