NEW LONDON, N.H. -- The University of New England women's swimming team concluded first-semester competition by finishing second out of four teams at the Colby-Sawyer College Invitational held Saturday afternoon (Dec. 7) at Knight Natatorium.
The host Chargers took the event with a team score of 458, followed closely by the Nor'easters at 440. Gordon College (253) and Western New England University (206) rounded out the field.

Kelly Dolyak and sophomores
Sara DeAngelo and
Rachael Romain each won an event and placed second in another for UNE. Dolyak was victorious in the 500-yard freestyle (5:40.58) and second in the 200-yard free, while DeAngelo won the 200-yard butterfly (2:26.09) and placed second in the 100-yard fly. Romain claimed the 400-yard individual medley (5:11.07) and was second in the 200-yard breaststroke.
Big Blue junior
Emily Zeimetz was second to Romain in the 400-yard IM, posting a time of 5:23.21.
The Nor'easters are idle until the new year. They will participate in a tri-meet Jan. 11 at Bates College with the Bobcats and Norwich University.
