Nor'easters cruise to 153-50 win over Husson

BANGOR, Maine -- The University of New England women's swimming team improved to 3-1 on the season with a 153-50 victory over Husson University Saturday afternoon (Nov. 16) at Webber Pool.

Junior Emily Zeimetz and sophomores Rachel Romain and Sara DeAngelo paced the Nor'easters, each grabbing a pair of individual wins and swimming a leg in a winning relay entry. Zeimitz was first in both the 100-yard individual medley (1:07.09) and the 100-yard butterfly (1:07.80). Romain was victorious in the 100-yard freestyle (1:00.84) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:16.41), while DeAngelo took first place in the 200-yard free (2:12.80) and 500-yard free (5:52.98).

Picking up a win in the 1,650-yard freestyle was junior Kelly Dolyak. She claimed the event with a time of 19:52.39.

Zeimetz and Romain coupled with first-years Andrea Rybick and Samantha Hanley to win the 200-yard medley relay, while DeAngelo, senior co-captains Patrice Tetu and Alex Gabriels, and rookie Eleni Bautz teamed to win the 200-yard freestyle relay.

The Nor'easters are back in action next Saturday (Nov. 23) when they head to Plymouth State University for a 1 p.m. meet.
