BOSTON -- UMass Boston's Angela Dandreo scored at 8:25 of the third period to even things up, as the Beacons and University of New England played to a 1-1 tie in non-league women's ice hockey action Tuesday evening (Nov. 12) at the Clark Athletic Center Ice Arena.

UNE sophomore Shannon Reynolds tallied the first goal of the game. Her marker midway through the second period was set-up by junior Rachel Schwaner.

The Beacons drew even when Dandreo converted a pass from Tori Pizzuto. Courtney White had a secondary assist on the play.

Rookie goaltender Sydney Helmbrecht had a busy evening in goal for UNE, making a total of 41 saves, including several clutch denials in the closing stages of regulation. Perhaps her finest save of the evening was near-post bid by the Beacons' Kat Armstrong off a 2-on-1 rush.

Moe Bradley had 16 stops for the Beacons (0-2-1).

The Nor'easters (2-2-2) are idle for 10 days until they host Sacred Heart University for a pair of games Nov. 22-23.
