BEVERLY, Mass. -- Morgan DeShaw scored five times and assisted on three others to help lead Endicott College to a 15-4 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) victory over the University of New England in women's lacrosse action Tuesday afternoon (Apr. 17) at Endicott Stadium.
With the win, the Gulls (9-4) maintain their perfect conference ledger (6-0) and secure the top seed in the upcoming CCC Championship, which is scheduled to begin on April 28. The loss brings an end to Big Blue's nine-game unbeaten streak, and sets the Nor'easters back to 11-3 on the year (5-1 CCC).
Of the six teams making it to the postseason tournament, UNE will enter as the second seed, and with Endicott, will receive a first round bye into the semifinals.
Holly Davis and Kelly Tierny each added three goals for the home team, which finished with a 31-21 advantage in shots. The shots margin was 22-7 in the 1st half, as the Gulls built an 11-1 cushion on the scoreboard after 30 minutes.

Jesalyn Dvorak (Windsor, Conn.) tallied two second-half goals to pace the visitors. Junior

Hannah Tavella (Putnam Valley, N.Y.) collected five draw controls apiece for UNE, which ended with a 15-6 edge in the category.
Leah Neff only needed to make three saves and allowed one goal in the initial 40 minutes to earn the triumph for Endicott, before giving way to Rachel Socolow, who made six stops to close out the match.
Sophomore
Samantha St. Pierre (Mechanic Falls, Maine) recorded 10 saves for the Nor'easters, who head to Salve Regina University on Saturday (12 p.m.) to conclude league play.
The Gulls next take to the field on Thursday for a non-conference contest against Babson College.
