BIDDEFORD, Maine -- The University of Southern Maine Huskies opened up a 6-0 lead after two periods on their way to a 7-3 victory over the University of New England Nor'easters in an ECAC East men's ice hockey game played Saturday afternoon at USM Ice Arena.
First-year Brad McGovern (Haverhill, Mass.) scored two goals and set-up two others to fuel the Southern Maine offense. Ryan Seward (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) was credited with four assists. Matt McDonald (Byfield, Mass.), Angelo Vrachnas (St. James, N.Y.), Mike Greene (Arvada, Colo.), Jamie Osborne (Great Lake, Nova Scotia) and Kody Collins (Keswick, Ontario) each found the back of the cage once for the Huskies (8-9-4, 6-6-2 ECAC East), who were outshot 37-25 but converted 4 of 8 power-play opportunities.
Sophomore goaltender Braely Torris (Eckville, Ontario) stopped 34 shots in upping his record to 8-7-4.

USM, which defeated UNE Friday night by a score of 5-1, returns to action next Friday and Saturday with a road trip to Babson College and UMass Boston.
The Nor'easters will look to get back into the win column away from home against those same two teams. Big Blue skates at UMass Boston Friday night (7 p.m.) and Babson Saturday afternoon (4 p.m.).
