Ephs skate to victory over Nor'easters

Box Score

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Gabrielle Vukasin and Andree Heller each recorded hat tricks to power Williams College to an 8-1 triumph over the University of New England in women's hockey action Saturday afternoon (Nov. 24) at Lansing Chapman Rink.

Vukasin notched the first two for the Ephs (2-1) just 17 seconds apart in the 1st period, with Cristina Bravi getting the assist both times. Nitsan Goldstein then capped the scoring in the frame -- her first of three points on the day.

Heller accounted for the Williams offense in the 2nd with her first two of the game, sandwiching UNE's lone goal that came with 2:25 left in the period. First-year Kris McLaughlin (Billerica, Mass.) made it 4-1 at the time, off passes from classmates Lauryn Huck (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) and Kayleigh Trepanier (Lebanon, Maine).

Assisting on Vukasin's third of the contest -- just 34 ticks into the 3rd -- Abby Belcrest tallied her third helper of the game.

Rachel Nguyen posted nine saves between the pipes for the Ephs, who finished with a 62-10 advantage in shots on goal.

First-year Courtney Kendall (Waltham, Mass.) turned aside 54 shots for the Nor'easters (0-3), who head to Franklin Pierce University for dates on Friday and Saturday.
