Husson snags John Queenan Memorial title; UNE second

Gage Robertson posted his lowest score this season to help the Nor'easters' cause

CASCO, Maine -- Led by a pair of 77's from senior Gage Robertson (Freeport, Maine) and sophomore Andrew Emery (Winthrop, Maine), the University of New England men's golf team finished in second place with a score of 321 at the John Queenan Memorial tournament, hosted by Saint Joseph's College Tuesday at Point Sebago Golf Club. Husson University won the event with a total of 296.

The Eagles have won all four of their events so far this season, while the Nor'easters make a second place showing for the second time in three outings.

The University of Southern Maine (334), St. Joe's (341), University of Maine Farmington (346), and Daniel Webster College (368) rounded out the field.

Husson's Tim Carlson captured the medalist honors with a one-over-par round of 73.

Also scoring for UNE were sophomores Mathew Brown (Charleston, Maine) and Tyler Moody (Augusta, Maine) with 80 and 87, respectively. Senior Griffin Andrews (Rye, N.H.) came in with a 91.

Big Blue is back at it Thursday, competing in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Invitational at Green Hill Golf Course in Worcester, Mass.
