BRUNSWICK, Maine -- The Bowdoin College men's ice hockey team scored four times in the first period and three more in each of the next two as it picked up a 10-2 non-conference win over the University of New England Tuesday evening at Watson Arena.
With the win, the Polar Bears level their record at 1-1-1. UNE falls to 1-4-0 on the year with the setback.
Jordan Lalor, Kyle Lockwood, and Timothy McGarry each found the back of the net twice for Bowdoin, and both Lockwood and McGarry added assists to end up with three points on the night.
Ryan Collier, Erik Olson, Graham Sisson, and Daniel Weiniger also scored for the hosts, who received two assists apiece from Donald Chute, Tim Coffey, and Danny Palumbo.

Tyler Fleurent (Biddeford, Maine) tallied his fourth score of the season, with assists going to Lokey and Chase.
Bowdoin starting netminder Steve Messina allowed one goal and made 16 saves in just under 46 minutes of action, before giving way to Connor Shannon, who posted six stops the rest of the way.
For UNE, sophomore
Ian Edwards (Linden, Mich.) and
Craig Ryan (Wallingford, Conn.) split time between the pipes, recording 16 and six saves, respectively.
The Polar Bears face Salve Regina University on Saturday -- the same day that Big Blue heads to Southern New Hampshire University for the first of two weekend games at the PAL/Stovepipe Tournament. The Nor'easters begin play against the host Penman at 1:30 p.m. from the Ice Den Arena in Hooksett, N.H.
