FARMINGTON, Maine -- The University of New England men's cross country team placed three first-year runners in the Top 7 on its way to a first-place finish at the University of Maine Farmington Invitational on Saturday.
Led by a second-place finish by
Brandon Mulligan (Westfield, Mass.), the Nor'easters totaled 30 points to breeze to the title. Maine Maritime Academy finished second with 50 points. Mulligan (pictured above) posted a six-kilometer time of 21:46, 33 seconds behind winner Matthew Methot of MMA.
Daniel Raboin (Lunenberg, Mass.) finished fourth overall for UNE with a time of 22:13. Classmate Nathan DiMartino (Hilton, N.Y.) placed seventh at 22:26.

Josh Grenier (Otisfield, Maine) and junior
Bosco Oringa (Portland, Maine) were the other scoring runners for Big Blue. Grenier was ninth (23:31) and Oringa 11th (23:39).
The Nor'easters will host the UNE Invitational next Saturday (Sep. 11). Start time at Rotary Park is scheduled for 11:30 a.m.
