BIDDEFORD, Maine -- The University of New England men's cross country team placed second out of nine teams at the UNE Invitational held Saturday morning at Rotary Park.
The University of Southern Maine finished with five runners in the top eight to come away with the team honors after amassing 24 points. The Nor'easters were second at 74 points, followed by Lyndon State College (79) in third. USM's John Vallo won the race with a 8,000-meter time of 27:54.
First-year
Brandon Mulligan (Westfield, Mass.) placed fourth overall with a time of 28:33 to lead the Nor'easters. Classmate Daniel Raboin (Lunenberg, Mass.) broke the Top 20 with a time of 30:02 to grab 16th place.
Also scoring for UNE were first-year Nathan DiMartino (Hilton, N.Y.), senior
Josh Grenier (Otisfield, Maine), and junior
Bosco Oringa (Portland, Maine).
The Nor'easters are idle until Sept. 25 when they will participate in the Elms College Blazers Invitational.
