BEVERLY, Mass. -- Sophomore Morgan DeShaw (Danville, N.H.) notched six goals and three assists to pace Endicott College in an 18-8 The Commonwealth Coast Conference victory over the University of New England in women's lacrosse action Wednesday evening.
The win moves the Gulls (8-2) into sole possession of first place in the conference standings at 6-0. With their first TCCC setback (5-1) and the end of a six-game win streak, the Nor'easters now sit at 7-2 on the season. Endicott continued its success against UNE, taking the ninth straight meeting between the teams.
Senior Valerie Feldman (Albany, N.Y.) played a solid match in support of DeShaw, finishing with a goal and six assists. Junior Molly Sowles (Cumberland, Maine) contributed three scores.
Between the pipes for Endicott, sophomore Leah Neff (South Berwick, Maine) made nine saves.
The Nor'easters received four markers from junior

Junior goalkeeper

Cate put the visitors in front 1:29 into the contest, but the Gulls responded with 11 unanswered goals in less than 14 minutes to assume control of the match. DeShaw kicked off the stretch with her first four tallies of the outing.
After the teams exchanged scores before the half to make it 12-2 at intermission, UNE found the back of the cage for five of the first seven goals of the final stanza to reduce the deficit to 14-7 with 14:32 remaining.
The Nor'easters would get no closer, as Endicott scored the next three to put the game out of reach.
Both squads are back on the field Saturday. The Gulls visit Dudley, Mass. for a date with Nichols College, while UNE is set to entertain Western New England College (3:30 p.m.).
