BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Eleven different players recorded goals as the University of New England won its The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) opener, 15-2, over Anna Maria College in women's lacrosse action Saturday afternoon at Barbara J. Hazard Field.

Jenna Barton (Wolfeboro, N.H.) each scored twice during the stretch.
The cushion was 10 (11-1) at halftime, as UNE held advantages in shots (32-3), draw controls (12-1), and ground balls (31-10) in the opening frame.

Abby Slavin (Hooksett, N.H.) added a pair of second-half scores for UNE, which finished with a 48-5 edge in shots. Senior
Emily Harvey (Standish, Maine) led the strong defensive effort for the Nor'easters, finishing with career-high 10 ground balls and three caused turnovers.

Sophomore Amanda Hevy (Brookfield, Mass.) and senior Jennifer McCabe (Westborough, Mass.) tallied the goals for the Amcats (1-4, 0-2 TCCC). First-year Lourdes Pena (Lawrence, Mass.) turned aside 21 shots.
The Nor'easters travel to Manchester, N.H. Tuesday for a conference match-up with Colby-Sawyer College (7 p.m.). Anna Maria returns to action Monday for a non-conference date at Simmons College (7 p.m.).
