Sophomore Gage Robertson matched his season-low score of 80 at the Sable Oaks Golf Club Monday

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine -- Sophomore
Gage Robertson (Freeport, Maine) and junior
Steve Dillon (Sanford, Maine) each fired rounds of 80 at Sable Oaks Golf Club Monday to help the University of New England to a fourth place finish out of eight teams at the University of Southern Maine Fall Classic.
The event was originally scheduled as a two-day event, but heavy rains washed out play on Sunday.
Husson University and medalist Kevin Bryne (3-over-par 73) were victorious once again with a team total of 314 -- good for a five-stroke victory over Endicott College (319).
UMaine Farmington took third place with a total of 323, while the Nor'easters' score of 329 narrowly edged out the host Huskies by one stroke (330). Bowdoin College (341), Saint Joseph's College (349), and Thomas College (NS) rounded out the field.
The other UNE golfers that factored in the scoring were juniors
Griffin Andrews (Rye, N.H.) and
Adrian Mendes (Seymour, Conn.) with scores of 84 and 85, respectively. Senior
Nathan Fairfield (Bath, Maine) carded a 90.
The Nor'easters return to Sable Oaks Friday for the Southern Maine Cup.
