BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Sophomore Michelle Oswald (Jay, Maine) netted a hat trick and and senior Taryn Flagg (Livermore Falls, Maine) set a pair of program records as the University of New England cruised to a 7-0 win over Anna Maria College in The Commonwealth Coast Conference field hockey action late Saturday afternoon.

Oswald got UNE rolling early, scoring the game's first goal seven minutes into the contest, then recorded two more goals in the second half for her first career hat trick.

Flagg factored in the next two UNE goals, tallying a goal and an assist in the span of 47 seconds midway through the first half. The goal was the 33rd of her career, breaking the previous mark of 32 held by 2008 graduate Lisa Baillargeon. Less than one minute later Flagg notched an assist, giving her 81 points and surpassing Baillargeon's career total of 80.

Senior Anne Cowles (Franconia, N.H.) added two scores for the Nor'easters, who raised their record to 3-0 (1-0 TCCC) on the season. Junior Michaela Franey (York, Maine) chipped in with a goal and two assists, while first-years Molly Cooper (Fairfield, Maine) and Laura Egounis (Boscawen, N.H.) each picked up one assist.

UNE, which visits Saint Joseph's College Tuesday, sent a total of 48 shots towards the Anna Maria net and only needed junior goalie Ayla Nelson (Auburn, Mass.) to make four saves to preserve the shutout.

Junior goalie Allyssa Boykin (Worcester, Mass.) made 24 saves for the Amcats (0-2, 0-1 TCCC), who play Worcester State College the same day.
