Danielle Cate scored three times in the second half to help UNE tie the game after trailing 11-3

TOWSON, Md. -- Marlo Tersigni scored with 9:53 remaining to break an 11-all tie, and Goucher College tacked on a pair of insurance goals on its way to a 14-11 women's lacrosse win over the University of New England on Sunday afternoon.
Trailing 9-3 at halftime, UNE found itself down 11-3 early in the second half after Goucher tallied twice in the opening five minutes.
The Nor'easters came roaring back with eight unanswered goals and eventually tied the game on a free-position shot by Danielle Cate (Boscawen, N.H.) with 10:34 on the clock. Cate scored three times during UNE's eight-goal barrage.
After Tersigni's game-winner, Mary Lambert and Cindy Villarreal added insurance goals for Goucher.
Lambert finished with four goals to pace the Gophers (2-1). Tersigni and Jenny Lucey added three apiece.
Kate McCarter (Bellingham, Mass.) scored four times to lead the UNE attack. Cate and Amanda Barker (Gloucester, Mass.) combined for five second-half goals. Junior co-captain Emily Harvey (Standish, Maine) scooped up a team-high seven ground balls.
Sophomore goaltender Tara Geraghty (Barrington, R.I.) recorded 10 saves for the Nor'easters (0-1), who play a road game at Gwynedd-Mercy College on Tuesday (4:00 p.m.)
