The Nor'easters earned their 7th consecutive win to improve to 6-1 in conference play

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- The University of New England field hockey team established a school record with its 11th win of the season, shutting out Western New England College 5-0 Thursday evening in the completion of an Oct. 3 The Commonwealth Coast Conference match suspended due to lightning.
The game was resumed with the Nor'easters leading 2-0 and just over 12 minutes on the clock in the first half.
Senior
Taryn Flagg and sophomore
Michelle Oswald finished with two goals apiece for the Nor'easters, who boast the nation's fifth-leading scoring offense. Flagg scored once in each portion of the contest, while Oswald notched a pair of goals after the resumption of play. The duo have combined for 27 goals on the season and each are ranked in the Top 5 of the TCCC statistical leaders in goals and points per game.
Junior
Cassandra Bushey added the other goal for UNE, which led in shots 19-5. Sophomore Brianna Tupper was credited with a pair of assists, while senior
Anne Cowles and junior
Michaela Franey had one apiece.

Ayla Nelson pushed her school single-season record total of shutouts to seven by recording three saves. Lindsey Orszulak made six stops for WNEC (4-13, 3-5 TCCC).
The Nor'easters (11-2, 6-1), who won for the seventh straight time, are scheduled to play a key TCCC game versus New England College Saturday at 1 p.m. -- weather permitting.
